About

With my hair tangled in the wind, you can usually find me with a camera in hand. Life is hard and living even harder but I laugh often and remember to breathe in the earth around me. I fall in love with pipers along the shoreline, adore when dew covers flower petals, and never tire of the first snowfall. I spend my time chasing the sun and searching for the moon in a world that fails to look up at the stars. I believe in magic and love and the miracle I’m still here. For so long, I was in search of a new place to grow and thrive, fumbling through places I didn’t belong. But I have finally found myself where the mountains meet the sea, in the state of Maine. I'm learning what it means when the calm after the storm arrives and continuing to change as the seasons ebb and flow. For the first time, my roots are planted and expanding in an environment that feels nurtured and safe. The fire within still burns and rages but I'm finding new ways of channeling it. These days, I find myself healing the coldest parts of myself, while navigating grief, and letting go of what has longed held me down. I’m learning what it means to find stable ground . . .

My Philosophy

As a lover of natural light and shadows, I find myself using it in all aspects of my photography. Whether I’m capturing products, humans, or places, I’m in search of new compositions and viewpoints. As a lifestyle photographer and storyteller, my focus is on photographing real emotion and natural interactions.  My personal belief is that vulnerability and authenticity is what makes a beautiful photograph. I strive to create images that are real, raw, and allow people to see their true selves. I’m personally drawn to black and white photography but believe some things are just meant to be in color.

I’m available for hire for projects worldwide. If you’d be interested in working together or want to enquire about image licensing - please contact me here. And if you’re interested in purchasing any of my prints, please visit my print shop.

Testimonials

Kayleigh has such a gift for capturing the humanity behind small businesses. Her style is patient and deliberate- a welcomed change from the over-edited, ultra-curated photos we see so often. She is communicative, empathetic and passionate about her work- and a complete joy to collaborate with. I recommend her to all the makers + small business owners in my community, and can’t wait to work with her again.
